Memorial Scholarship Fund

In 2009, through your generosity and the success of the Wallingford Family YMCA/ Wint Filipek Sr. Memorial Tennis Tournament, the Winton S. Filipek Sr. Scholarship Fund donated $10,200.00 to college bound student athletes in central Connecticut. This scholarship fund was established in 2005 at the untimely passing of our father.

We are asked to support many charities and non-profit endeavors. Our family is asking you to please consider our dad’s scholarship fund on an annual basis. Our promise to you is that your donation will be used solely to provide scholarships to good, deserving kids who meet our application criteria.

Dad was an all around athlete, but it was tennis that held a special place in his heart. A Meriden city champ at age 16, an exhibition match with nationally ranked and Meriden’s own Lois Felix, and a playing span of close to 60 years is a portion of his tennis legacy.
