Match Information
David Markin Courts
- Matches will be held at the David Markin Courts on the campus of Cheshire Academy and surrounding courts.
- Due to the size of the tournament, matches must start on time. Any player 15 minutes late will forfeit the match.
- Tennis balls will be provided for each match.
- Scoring: Match is 2 out of 3 sets – 12 point tie breaker at 6 games in all sets.
- Warm up is limited to 10 minutes ONLY.
- If you enter 2 or 3 events, you may need to play multiple matches in one day.
- Players will call their own lines during matches.
- General Rain Statement
If rain cancels ALL matches Sat - Weds, ALL matches those days will be pushed back one day.
"If rain causes questionable playing conditions, please call your Division Coordinator for scheduling information (or YMCA, 203-269-4497).
It should also be noted that "unless you specifically hear different, all matches are on." No one should assume matches are rained out.
It can be raining in New Haven and sunny in Wallingford.
- Your division coordinator will call you before your first match to let you know your starting dates/times.
- Weekly starting times 5:00 and 6:30.
Player Information
- This year all players receive a tournament
gift bag, a quality t-shirt, a ticket to “Breakfast at Wimbledon,”
water, drinks, tennis balls for each match, and prizes for 1st/2nd
in each division. We have strived not to raise entry fees.
With that said, we are asking all players and spectators to consider
participating in our raffle. All raffle proceeds fund YMCA programs
and the Wint Filipek Sr. Scholarship Fund ($10,200 to High School
seniors in 2009).
- Please adhere to ALL CheshireAcademy parking requirements.
- The Honorable William Dickinson (also participating in the tournament) will lead our trophy ceremony on June 20st, immediately following the final matches.
