The Wallingford Family YMCA/Wint Filipek Sr. Memorial Tennis Tournament drew a total of 481 players in 2008, thanks to the hard work of many participants. That number of players in a tennis tournament in central CT is unparalleled. Throughout the 9-day event, numerous visitors and spectators came to relax and enjoy our event.

The Free Clinic & Fun Day attracted 150 kids (at capacity in 2008) and is scheduled for June 14, 2009. This clinic is only one reason we now believe this to be the premier community tennis tournament in New England. We intend to make it even better.

We wish to thank the many sponsors who again supported the tournament this year, and to our new sponsors, including those who sponsored our 17-players divisions. We need you and hope you will continue to support this wonderful and rapidly expanding event in 2009 and beyond. It was a pleasure to recognize all of you at our closing ceremony.

Regardless of the success and size of the tournament, we will not be complacent. We will continue to improve and enhance this tennis tournament. With your continued support, we will make that happen.
